At the February 21 Public Board Meeting, the Board of Education passed a motion to study the feasibility of launching a Gitxsan Immersion program at Kindergarten in Hazelton in September 2024. To that end, the Coast Mountains School District, in partnership with the Gitxsan Government Commission and Gitxsan Nation, will be hosting a series of Information Sessions in the Hazeltons during the month of April. Parents and caregivers with children entering Kindergarten specifically are encouraged to attend one of the sessions to learn more about the program and express their interest in participation. The deadline for parents and caregivers to express their interest for Kindergarten will be Wednesday April 24.

- Gitanmaax Hall - Wednesday April 3 at 6:00
- Hagwilget Hall - Thursday April 4 at 6:00
- Glen Vowell Band Board Room - Tuesday April 16 at 6:00
- Anspayaxw School Gym - Wednesday April 17 at 6:00
Food will be served at all informations sessions, and no advance registration is necessary.
